A long time member of The Red Dogs, Kent (or Leo as we
called him), represented the heart and soul of the group.  A
talented and versatile keyboard and sax player, he was on all
The Red Dog recordings in the 60's.  Leo always had an
engaging smile, a warm heart, and was a great friend.  He is
sorely missed by all of us.

Leo's father, Dwight, was a major Red Dog supporter,
occasionally flying band members in his private plane from
school (after exams) to a gig several states away.

The Leopold family is still an important part of The Red Dog
family.

Jack grew up in Coffeyville, KS, joining The Limits, which
became  The Red Dogs, with Butch Neese.   He played
with the group from 1963 and into 1966 and, with Doug,
was an original creator of the swinging saxes.  He was
known for his creative sax playing and excellent
on-stage dancing.  Jack later played with The Flippers
and other bands in the Kansas and Missouri area.  Much
later, he was a regular and toured with the Blue Riddim
Band, a world class reggae band nominated for a
Grammy award in the early 90's.  Jack continues playing
and writing music in the Kansas City area.

John was the original Red Dog drummer.  From
Bartlesville, OK, he played several years with The Limits
prior to them becoming The Red Dogs and was on the
1965 Red Dog summer tour.  A crowd favorite, he was
known for his showy drumming and on stage
acrobatics.  He often had his own group of fans at the
side of the stage with their eyes on him.  After The Red
Dogs he played with several smaller groups for dances
and clubs in and around Oklahoma.   John lives in
Stigler, OK.

Bob was the youngest member of The Red Dogs in
the 60's.  His vocal talent and on-stage showmanship
got everyone's attention..  Not only was he a great
singer but he also played a very good trombone.  A
natural talent...
Bob Meyerhoeffer:

Last but hardly least, is our agent from the 60's, John
Brown.  John, also an inductee into the Kansas Music
Hall of Fame, was the owner/operator of Mid-Continent
Entertainment, the agency that booked The Red Dogs
and several other premier show bands of the time.  John
was just a college student himself at the time, but it
didn't stop him from becoming the mid-west's premier
music agent.  He had an immeasurable impact  on the
making The Red Dogs a household name in the
mid-west.   He was, and still is, quite the entrepreneur.
John is still a big supporter of The Red Dogs we
consider him a good friend.
